
Dr. Raul S. Alafa brings over 20 years of experience across military leadership, behavioral health, and education to his role as a postdoctoral resident at Levitan & Associates Psychological Services. A retired U.S. Air Force leader, he has extensive experience executing complex operations under high-pressure conditions and has been recognized for his excellence and commitment to service.
Dr. Alafa earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Walden University, where his research focused on behavioral strategies to support students with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). His clinical experience includes providing comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for diverse populations, as well as therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and adults.
Dr. Alafa specializes in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). He is a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) and Certified Grief Professional (CGP). Before pursuing his doctorate, he served as an educator teaching AP Computer Science and AP Psychology, reflecting his lifelong commitment to mentorship, learning, and service.
